ABOUT ATRIUM PSYCHOTHERAPY

Hi, I'm Melissa Daum, the founder of Atrium Psychotherapy. Atrium is made up of clinicians I’ve felt a strong personal connection with and whose minds I deeply respect. I never set out to run a group practice—it grew out of meeting limited permit holders seeking a home where they could become the therapist they long to be, in an environment that supports depth and complexity.

Over time, Atrium has grown into an ecosystem of clinicians who think and learn together. Each of us carries a personal story that brought us to this work, along with a profound appreciation for what can happen in therapy. We think together, learn from each other, and stay tethered to the curiosity and care that brought us here in the first place.

I hope you’ll find someone here who can accompany you on your journey. If you’re not sure who might be the right fit, I’m glad to help with matchmaking, or you’re welcome to set up a consultation. You can read more about my work here.
MEET OUR CLINICIANS

OUR WEST VILLAGE OFFICE
We have a three-office suite in the West Village, close to Washington Square Park and Sheridan Square. The space was lovingly converted into therapist offices in the 1980s by photographer-activist-turned-psychoanalyst Ellen Shumsky and Nancy Shamban. It carries decades of West Village charm and is tucked behind a black iron gate, offering a quiet and tucked-away entrance.

We're located at 119 Washington Pl. between 6th and 7th Aves. When facing 119, we're through the gate directly to your left.
